Just A Note

Hi There,

I can't believe that May is almost over,
I hope you are well and safe wherever you are.

Today I am sharing my third card for May for Paper Rose Studio.

Last year i made a set of cards using a technique called" stained glass window effect".
you can see these cards here

I have made another card using that technique to add depth to just the flowers on the card.
My last set of cards using this technique were entirely covered in glossy accents!

To create this card I have die cut my Blossom Outline die and it's base layer as well.

After gluing these two layers together I have coloured in and shaded the petals of the flowers
 and  leaves with Copic Markers.
You don't need to worry about any colour getting on the framed edges
as we will add another three layers of the outline die on top of our base.

After all the layers are glued together and dry,
carefully fill each little section of the flowers and leaves with glossy accents and leave to dry completely.
I have then added a final layer of the Blossom Outline die
to neaten up the edges, this really helps to create a really clean look
if any of the glossy accents went outside the lines.

The background of the card is simply layered up on grey and Neenah card.
I have cut out my sentiment in a soft silver metallic card.

I have glued silver micro beads on the flower centres with glossy accents

Supplies used:

18168 Blossom Outline Die
16969 Quatrefoil Layer 1
16551 Stitched Ovals Stacked Dies
16576 Stitched Rectangles A6 set
18288 Just a Note Layered word Die

Copic Marker Colours:
G20, G21
R20, R21, R22

Stay safe and happy

Lined Leaf Card

Hi Everyone

I have another card for Paper Rose Studio  that I would like to share with you.

I have used the Lined Leaf Outline die set to create a simple card
in a monochromatic colour palette.

Yes! this is a colour photo! I love how all the grey shades look together.

This card is really simple, you just need to cut out multiple leaves in light, medium and dark shades of the same colour family.
For example if I have cut a skeleton leaf in pale grey shade you will glue that onto another leaf the next shade darker.

I didn't paper piece all those little bits back in! no way! If you look at the picture above you will see that I have kept some of the leaves intact. I have done this using a layer of press and seal on my card before die cutting.
I have removed the press and seal before gluing my leaves down.

All the leaves are assembled by adding a lighter skeleton leaf on top of a darker full leaf base.

I think they look really effective and I didn't have to glue in all those little squares!

The card is completed by gluing the leaves down on a double matted base in a random pattern.
Some of the top layers are mounted on foam tape.

I have layered up my sentiments as well using white and grey card.

Oddball Giraffe Rainbow

Hi There

I am back today with my card for Bizzy Becs Monthly challenge.

My card is a fun one coloured in rainbow colours, I love how cheerful my card turned out.

I think we can all do with some colour in our lives at the moment.

I have stamped the Stampingbella Oddball Giraffe in Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured him in with Copic markers giving him rainbow spots.

The background is made using the Taylored Expressions Spotted Cutting Plate.

To continue the rainbow in my background
I have used a circle punch to cut out little colour spots in rainbow colours
and glued them into place behind the circle spots in the base plate.

Supplies used:

Stampingbella - Oddball Giraffe
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips Friendship stamp
Taylored Expressions - Simple Strips Die
Taylored Expressions Spotted Cutting Plate
Creative Expression Sue Wilson - Hip Hip Hooray ( by Request )

I hope you're inspired to join us at Bizzy Becs Blog for our anything goes challenge!

Don't forget to pop into the store where you can pre-order these products and so much more at great prices.

Peonies for Mothers Day

Hi There

I hope you are all well and staying safe.

Today I would like to share with you  my first project for Paper Rose Studio for May, a card I made for my Mum on mothers day.

I have used the Paper Rose Peonies 4 x 6 stamp  set create this card.

To stamp out the flowers I have used Versamark ink and white embossing powder.
This gives me a nice raised and crisp white outline.
The paperI have  used is a heavy weight watercolour paper.

I have used  paint from the Prima vintage pastels watercolour set in soft pinks and greens to colour the embossed flowers.

The embossing is great as it creates little wells where you can puddle the paint without fear of loosing your white line detail.

My wording has been cut out in Neenah Ivory card and layered onto a strip of vellum.
The shadow, or base layer, for the word Mother's has been cut out of a medium dusky pink colour and layered under the vellum to soften it.

Supplies Used:

17148 Peonies 4 x 6 Stamp Set
17982 Ella's Garden Mother's Word die
18442 Happy Birthday Stitched Metal dies
