a vintage christmas card

Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas with loved ones. Today I would like to share with you a card I made for a friend of mine. I decided to go with a neutral pallete and a vintage theme.
I have embossed the background and mounted this on a contrasting layer.
The candle die had three candles together but this was too large so I have just cut off the extra two giving me a nice simple look.

I have mounted the holly die cut on foam tape and finished off with some stickles around the top of the candle, a few pearls stuck down on the ends of the vines help to add a nice soft contrast.

Memory box dies used:
holly bouquet, pillar candle trio and victorian frame.

Turn your face to the sun

It's so hard to believe that it's November already and there never seems to be enough time to do all the  things that I want to do. I am sure you feel the same way.

for Bizzy Becs I would like to share with you a journal page I have created. The face is drawn in Prismacolor pencils on acrylic paint with various layers of ink and distress stains.

I have used extra heavy through a memory box stencil- texture wave, to create the texture in her hair. The colour in her hair is layers of acrylic paint and on top of the gesso distress stains in vintage photo, rusty hinge and wild honey.

the background texture is stamped and embossed using the darkroom door damask stamp

I don't have any real plan when drawing and art journaling I just add more layers and textures until I feel happy with the result.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to drop in to Bizzy Becs online store to grab some goodies. You can now Pre-order My favourite things dies (MFT).

Cu next time

Butterfly card

Hi this is a card I have made for a friends birthday. It has a clean look about it.
I have Stamped out the Darkroom Door  butterflies in StazOn black ink and coloured them with peerless watercolours. After they were dry I have cut around the wings only allowing me to raise them for a great 3D effect.

The Birthday sentiment is from Bizzy Bec's Online store's Digi Freebies.
I have cut out the sentiment as well as framed it using the Victorian Frames die from Memory box. I have used a seam binding ribbon that I have coloured using a Distress re-inker in weathered wood.

I am really pleased with how the card turned out, thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop in at Bizzy Becs Store.
Bye for now

It has been a long time!

Hi there well so much has happened since I've posted here. This is my first post for Bizzy Becs Store, and I am looking forward to the challenge of getting my Blogging grove on. the creating hasn't stopped but somehow the sharing did.

I am really getting into mixed media journaling and drawing these days so i will share many new adventures with you.

Today I would like to share with you a mixed media journal page that I have made using lots of goodies.

I Love layers and ink and I have created the background of my page by using a technique that Finnabair,( Anna Dadrowska), has used by glueing tea bag tags down and then dry brushing them with gesso.
I have then used distress ink pads in Chipped Sapphire, Iced spruce, and Peacock Feathers to colour the  background. Then I went a it crazy with texture paste and some stencils.

then I stamped a few textures to add some depth.
The feathers are die cut then scribbled on with some white acrylic paint to add texture and spritzed with perfect pearl mists before glueing down.

I have used one of my own hand drawn faces for my main focal image and glued that down too!

The final touch is some die cut lettering and a word sticker from Heidi Swapp's range.

I have used a variety of layers here and I think they have come together really well.

You can get the following products from Bizzy Becs Online store so go have a look.
