Christmas Ornaments for Paper Rose Studio

Hi There,

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and are looking toward the New Year that is upon us.

I have made a set of fun Christmas cards in a very non-traditional pink using the gorgeous Paper Rose Studio Christmas Ornaments stamp sets.

I wanted to create bright cards in a Christmas theme and decided to go with pink colours.

I have sponged all the pink backgrounds in Distress Oxides using
Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserves.

For this card I have sponged the background in distress oxide inks and then used the new
Sentiment Circle die to cut out the centre of my card base.
The strip across the centre of the circle is designed for you to add a sentiment and I love how that looks!

For this card I used on of the stitched circle dies to cut out a circle in some card to use as a stencil.
I have then masked a piece of card with this stencil and sponged my three distress oxide pinks to create a colour spot in the centre of my card.

This card was fun to create and a bit more work than the others.
I have taken the two Christmas baubles from the Sketchy Christmas Ornaments stamp set and masked them, stamping them out several times over.
Then masking  all the baubles, I have sponged the entire background with Distress Oxides.

after unmasking I have coloured with Copic markers.

Christmas Bells for Paper Rose Studio

Hi there

I  have another post of Christmas cards to share with you for Paper Rose Studio.

I will say that this year seems to of just disappeared and Christmas is fast aproaching and time is too short to get everything done.

It is always hard to get handmade cards together especially at Christmas time when you need to create so many. It pays to create several cards that are all based on a theme but with a few different elements to give a look of variety.

Today my cards are made featuring the Christmas Bells stamp set.

These cards are all about the Bells that are stamped in Mimento ink and coloured  with Copic Markers.

All of the bells are in yellows and golds contrasted with bridge green holly and red berries, I have used lighter red for the ribbon.

The backgrounds are simple white on white layering.
For this card I have coloured in the merry Christmas sentiment with some of the yellows I have already used to colour the bell.

I have then layered all the cards on craft card to create a darker boarder.

Supplies used:
18339 Christmas bells 4 x 4 stamp set
18225 Christmas sentiments Stamp set
17823 Merry Christmas Text Die
17247 Vine Background
17262 Layered Mandala Die
16942 Madison lace edge Die
16578 Stitched Squares dies

Thanks for dropping in to have a look, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and I will be back again with another set of cards for you on the 29th

until next time

Easy Christmas Wreath Cards

Hi There

Today I have a set of cards to share with you for Paper Rose Studio.

It's has been such a busy year and now that Christmas is only a few weeks away we are all so busy with our lives that it is harder to fit in crafting time.
I wanted to make some cards that were relatively quick and easy.

all three cards use the Scribble Wreath Die as the foundation shape.

I have Die cut the wreath and leaves from card that I have spritzed with Distress oxide sprays in various green shades. The effect gives me mottled rather than solid greens.

The card above uses only the fern leaf die onto of the Scribble Wreath to give a very soft look.
I have used Nuvo drops in red , copper and clear sparkle for the berries on the wreath.

For this card I added Poinsettia die cuts in metallic red and gold  for floral arrangement on top of the wreath die.

I have added some black splatter to all the cards to help balance out all the glitz from the metallic card.

Supplies Used:

17793 Christmas Scribble Wreath
18351 Poinsettia Flowers Die
17823 Merry Christmas text
17295 Layered Christmas Word Die
17349 Wishes Layered

Thanks again for stopping by.

Until next time

May Your Christmas Sparkle

Hi There

Today iI am back with a card that I hope will inspire you for our monthly challenge at Bizzy Bec's.

This month we are having a "sparkle" theme form our last challenge of the year.

I have stamped my image in Dark grey ink onto Neenah card, I have then coloured around the edges
of the card in Distress Oxide ink in Pumice stone using a blending brush to get a smooth blend.

ThenI have then coloured in the image with prismacolor coloured pencils. I have used traditional Christmas red and greens for her dress and boots softly blending the pencils together.

For some extra glitter and sparkleI have added Nuvo clear glitter drops around the image.

My sentiment die cut " may your Christmas sparkle" is cut out using red metallic card.
I have then simply cut the sentiment apart to allow me to split the sentiment for the top and the bottom of the card.

Supples Used:

Whimsy Stamps: Little Helper
Sue Wilson Dies: may your Christmas Sparkle Die ( by request)
Pickett fence Studio : Blending Brush

I hope you're inspired to join us at Bizzy Becs for our last monthly challenge for the year over on our blog
