Paper Rose Studio Cogs

Hi There,

I am back today to share with you my latest project for Paper Rose Studio.

My cards today have a rustic and vintage theme that are great for a masculine card.
We all know that it is so much harder to make cards for the guys!

To create this set of cards I have used  the Cog Frame and Cogs and Tack  Die sets from Paper Rose.

The dies have been cut out of light weight cardboard from cereal boxes and stacked together, so some of the cogs have up to four layers glued together.

I have collaged down all the cogs using PVA glue and primed them with gesso, following this they have been painted with multiple layers of acrylic paint and metallic gilding waxes.

I have added touches of gilding waxes  to the sentiments as well to tie them into the colour scheme.

Tis card has a metallic crackle background and cogs layered up on a heart die cut.

This card has a panel of collaged cogs layered onto text paper.

For this one the whole background is made up of the layered cogs.

Supplies Used:
17868 Cog Frame Die Set
17871 Cogs and Tack Die Set
16730 stitched Hearts
16874 Happy Birthday Large
17457 Cheers Layered
16832 Happy Peek-a-Boo
18147 Awesome Words 4 x 4 stamp set
17460 Awesome Word Die Set
17901 Sentiments 1 4 x 6 Stamp Set

Thanks for stopping by to have a look. I hope that you are inspired to give some of these ideas a try.

Until Next Time

Wild Heart Gypsy Soul for Bizzy Becs

Hi There

Thanks for joining me for my turn on the blog today with another card for Bizzy Bec's.

It's been really cold and windy here in Perth lately and I thought for my project today we should have some colour.

Bec has recently updated the website with some fantastic new ranges as well as listings of new products in some of the collections we already love!

I simply love Picket Fence Studio products and have just gotten this fabulous Stamp called
"Wild Heart Gypsy Soul"

Well this stamp is just gorgeous and I have made a very simple card using just a section of it.

I have coloured the flowers in Copic Markers in shades of red and orange.

For the background I have use the amazing Picket Fence Studio blending brushes to add Distress Oxides in Weathered wood and Cracked Pistachio.

I wasn't aiming to blend these colours I just wanted to add mottled colour, but these brushes are just fantastic and I will be using them a lot in future together some gorgeous smooth blends on my card backgrounds.

Supplies Used:

Paper Rose's It's the little things

Hi there,

Can you believe that we are almost half way through this crazy year.

Well It's my turn today to share a card for Paper Rose Studio.

Today I would like to show you a set of cards I have made featuring the beautiful Snugglepot and Cuddlepie Stamp "the Little Things"

I absolutely love this stamp and I wanted to create a set of cards that were soft in colour.
I decided to go with Prismacolour pencils as I can control the colour and still keep the details of this stamp.

I coloured all the Snugglepot and Cuddlepie stamped images in Prismacolor pencils, lightly layering the colours from dark to light. To get a really soft look I have stamped them in Ink on 3 fadeout ink.
This ink is amazing as it is safe for Copic Markers and waterproof but will disappear leaving no harsh lines.

I wanted to see how the flowers for the background would look in different mediums so I used watercolour pens on one and pastel watercolour paints for the second, and for the main card I have coloured in pencils, all the details and shading took ages!

For this card I have coloured in everything in prismacolor pencils
onto a really smooth Canson Illustration card.

The secret to pencil blending is very light layers built up on top of each other, you need to use a light touch building up the layers.

The Geraldton wax flowers took forever to do!

For this card I have used Tombow watercolour pens to colour the flowers to get a less structured look.
I used a water brush to soften the colour right down and to blend the colours together.

This card has the softest background of them all and I have used the Vintage Pastel watercolour set from Prima to get the soft colours.

Supplies Used:
17535 Snugglepot & Cuddlepie 4 x 6Little Things Stamp set
17536 Little Things die set
16826 Victorian Oval lattice frame ( for the layered ovals)
16679 Stitched Rectangle Frames
16576 Stitched rectangles A6
16748 Label Two die set
17232 Polaroid Frame ( for rectangle sentiment plates)

Thank you for popping in to have a look at this set of cards. I hope you are inspired to give your coloured pencils a go!

Until next time

Paper Rose silhouette trees with hombre backgrounds

Hi There,

Today's cards for Paper Rose Studio featuring  the Gumtree Landscape Die.
This die is just gorgeous and I thought I would mix it up a bit and use white card for the silhouette rather than black.

These Cards are really simple to make and I really love how the sponged Distress Oxide backgrounds turned out.

To mix it up a bit I have made one of the cards as a shaker card and filled thi inside with pearl and black little stars.

For each card I have selected a light, a medium and a dark tone of the same colour and blended them using a blending brush. For example for the blue card I have used Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon distress oxides.

For the shaker card ( above ) I have only partially cut the Gumtree Die and then used the large size in the nesting rectangle Die set to partially cut it for the second time creating a framed tree landscape.

on all three cards I have used embossing powder to give my stamped sentiment some "pop"

I hope you're inspired to give some of these ideas a try too.

Supplies used:

17667 Gum Tree Landscape die
17901 Sentiments 1, 4 x 6 Stamp set
17904 Sentiments 2, 4 x 6 stamp set
17652 Happy Birthday to you 3 x 4 stamp set
17361 Flying Birds Small

I will see you later in the month with my next design team project for Paper Rose

Until next time
