Sarah’s Bouquet in Prismacolour Pencils

Hello There

I can’t believe that we are now into October already

Time seems to fly by these days!

I have my first project of the month for Paper Rose Studio to share.

I really enjoy colouring florals and decided to use pencils for the details in this beautiful bouquet.

I have used MiTientes pastel paper as my card base as I really like the tooth on
This paper for coloured pencil work.
I have stamped the bouquet stamp out in Versafine  black ink.

Once I had coloured all the leaves and flowers,I used two shades of light blues to blend out the background.

I then added splatters of acrylic ink in gold and black.

As the pencil blending took some time I decided to keep the rest of my
Card  simple, leaving the floral bouquet the main focal point.

To complete the card I have die cut the word wishes out of plain black card
And added sentiments from the All Occasions sentiment pack.

Supplies used:

25234 - Sarah’s Bouquet Clear Stamp
26110 Tall Script words Wishes Blessings
All Occasions Sentiment Sheets

Prismacolor Pencils
Acrylic ink Black
Windsor and Newton Metallic Gold Ink

Thank you for stopping by to see my latest card
I will be back with another card on the 14th

Until Next time

Monkey Birthday card

Hello Again

I am back to share with you my third project for  this month.

Today I have used coloured pencils for this fun card.

I have stamped out the leaf stamp three times at the top of the card base, this gave me a nice tree line
When adding the swinging monkey.
The leaf stamp wasn’t very large so I didn’t need to mask anything as there wasn’t any overlap.

Once I stamped the monkey so that he appears to be swinging from the leaf branches,
I have used my prismacolour pencils to colour in both the leaves and monkey in.

Prismacolor pencils can get waxy so I have used a lot of light layers to build up the colour.

Supplies used:

27460 Monkey and Sloth Stamp Set
24712 Bold Leaves Stamp
19289 Big Black and White Sentiments
18454 - Blending Brush with cap

Distress Oxide ink - Tumbled Glass
Carson MiTientes Pastel Paper

Thanks for stopping by to have a look at my latest card
I will have three new projects for you next month

Until next time

Little Bunny Girl Christmas Card

Hello

I am back with my second project for December for

Paper Rose Studio.

The card that I am sharing is not your traditional Christmas card but with the right

sentiment almost any stamp can

make a great alternative Christmas Card.

My Image has been stamped onto pastel paper and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.
I have then fussy cut out the image.
The background Die has beed raised up by attaching it to the stitched frame die cut
and using foam tape to set both in place.
This gives some depth to the card base and pops the stamped image.

I have cut out the Merry Christmas in black card and added liquid sparkle
for some interest on the bolder block letters.

Creating a loose border effect.

I have then coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

edges of the gum flowers

I am back with my third project for November

and Paper Rose Studio.

Christmas card,

this one has ended up  bright and colourful.

To create the card base I have blended Distress Oxide Ink in Spun Sugar masking off
the background with a stencil to create an irregular shaped colour block as my base.

The background has also been distressed with water and splatters of gold paint.

I have fussy cut them and arranged them
on the card base.

I kept the card really simple and clean as the colours looked so cheerful and

bright together.

Holy Family Christmas Card

Hi again

I have another card to share with you.

I have used Prismacolor pencils to colour my stamped images.

These beautiful Christmas stamps are from Paper Rose Studio.

 my background.

I have used distress oxide ink in Speckled egg to fill in colour. I have also splattered the background with gold paint whilst the mask is still in place.

After colouring in my stamped images I have fussy cut them out

and layered them up to create my nativity scene.

Flowering Gum Christmas Card

Hi There

I am so shocked that it's November already!

For today's project I have made a very Australian

Christmas card using the Paper Rose Studio Flowering Gum stamp.

I will share a few more Christmas cards as it will be there before we know it.

I have kept  the card really simple as I feel the Gum leaves and flowers
 are the main feature here.
I have used Prismacolor pencils to colour the stamped image.

When doing such intense pencil blending I prefer to use Mi-Tientes
pastel paper as a base, it has a lot of tooth and grabs the waxy pigment of the
Prismacolor pencils really well.

After stamping the image I have built up the pigment slowly adding layer after layer of pencil until
the textured surface of this paper has filled out. This can take awhile and sometime you need to use a blending pencil ( clear wax) or a light coloured pencil to blend the layers together.

To complete the card I have used a yellow Posca paint pen to add the flecks of

pollen on the tips of the gum flowers.

I have also used the Merry Christmas everyone die cut from black card

for a simple sentiment.

Supplies used:

23152 flowering Gum stamp

22150 Merry Christmas Everyone Die

I love this cute little image and decided to stamp on craft card and
colour with Prismacolor pencils.

mounted onto terracotta and black card.

pencils to accent the word allowing it to stand out a little.

Hello Autumn leaf card in Prismacolor pencils

Hi There

Im back again with my first project for September.

Today I have a card to share with you for Paper Rose Studio that I have made card using the new Sketchy Floral Hello stamp set.

This card is simply about the colouring.
I have stamped out the leaf stamped in the set multiple times in a light colour ink,
I used Gina K's amalgam ink in skeleton leaves.
The paper  that I like to use for coloured pencils is Mi-Teintes pastel paper from Canson.

I Have then coloured in the leaves with Prismacolor coloured pencils.
It took awhile to colour them all
 but totally worth it.

The card background is also coloured with pencils in soft blues.

The card is completed by matting it on a black base and using the Hello layered Die and the black and white sentiment paper pack

May Your Christmas Sparkle

Hi There

Today iI am back with a card that I hope will inspire you for our monthly challenge at Bizzy Bec's.

This month we are having a "sparkle" theme form our last challenge of the year.

I have stamped my image in Dark grey ink onto Neenah card, I have then coloured around the edges
of the card in Distress Oxide ink in Pumice stone using a blending brush to get a smooth blend.

ThenI have then coloured in the image with prismacolor coloured pencils. I have used traditional Christmas red and greens for her dress and boots softly blending the pencils together.

For some extra glitter and sparkleI have added Nuvo clear glitter drops around the image.

My sentiment die cut " may your Christmas sparkle" is cut out using red metallic card.
I have then simply cut the sentiment apart to allow me to split the sentiment for the top and the bottom of the card.

Supples Used:

Whimsy Stamps: Little Helper
Sue Wilson Dies: may your Christmas Sparkle Die ( by request)
Pickett fence Studio : Blending Brush

I hope you're inspired to join us at Bizzy Becs for our last monthly challenge for the year over on our blog

Paper Rose Gnomies

Hi There

I have a set of cards for you featuring the new Gnomies stamp set from Paper Rose studio.

I think this is such an adorable stamp set and so versatile. You can use these cute little guys for any occasion, I decided to go with a Christmas theme.

I have a new found love for prismacolor pencils on Neenah Desert Storm card and how the bright colours pop on the craft coloured base.

I love how these two came out in blue and Red.

I have added crease lines to their hats to add some texture as the hats are the largest spaces to colour I wanted them to be the main feature.

The little green dude came out really well too and the traditional Christmas red and greens look great together.

Supplies Used:
18372 Gnomies 4 x 6 Stamp Set
17586 Scribble Stars 4 x $ Stamp set
18225 Christmas Sentiments 4 x 6 Stamp set

I really enjoyed colouring in this images and I hope you are inspired to do some pencil colouring as well. It looks like a lot of work but it really doesn't take too long.

Until next time

Mandy
