family memories

So here it is! I have made a chipboard book using old family photos from 1929 to 1940 as my inspiration.My project is for my Design Team pack from Scraptivate, the main products in my pack were Graphic 45 papers and collections chipboard frames.

 I have printed all my wonderful old family photos on transparencies and distressed all the edges by  melting and burning the edges with a candle.

I have used a few different ways to layout each photo, some have been attached with brads and others are stitched with a couple of stitches in each corner, and the rest have been put through the Xyron and stuck down to a background.

       

 some scrapware used on the pages: small hinges, CH fancy brackets, Alyssa flourish, crown flourish, diamond flourish, vine branches, garden fence,  marilyn blooms, some stars and letters!

Each page has various designs of german scrap on it. I have uses a cream coloured paint on all the chipboard and german scrap, to colour it up I have used Rub n Buff in Spanish copper and antique gold to add dimension. You can get all these goodies at Scraptivate, so call in soon

I am really pleased with the finished book, I hope you like it too!

Wow! Post number 2

So let's have a little fun! I think we can do some "blasts from the past". Over the next few weeks I am going to show you some projects the I have done over the last couple of years but as I'm new to blogging, they have never really been seen.

I will warn you they are all a little different and some have even been inspired by some amazing, and even well known teachers. I'm not going to drop any names yet! You will have to just check in and see what pops up!


Here is a little project the I did last year around November using the pretty little scrapware shadow box. I love this little size as it's only 4" x 4" and don't the sizzix roses look fantastic!

And you just have to love the german scrap too! I have colored it with smooch snickerdoodle.

Yay! I have a blog

Happy Australia Day everyone! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine and great weather we are having here in the West. Today has been fun and exciting for me, a little scary too! as I am now official, yes officially a blogging member of the Scraptivate crew.

Natalie thank you so much for all the help you have given me to set up my blog! You rock girl!

I am so excited that I can now share my art with you and all the great challenges we receive in our design team packs. keep watching this space. 

I thought I would share with you the cover of my art journal that I am making in Natalie's art journaling class. we will be getting together every second Saturday afternoon to work on these journal pages. Go to the Scraptivate website for class times. I am loving what we are making here and we will bind these books up once we have made pages. Mmmmm better hurray up an make some more!

I chose to paint an image on the front of my journal using Golden paints and watercolour crayons. The background is paper collage and painted with gesso and even though you can't see it in the photo, allot of Dazzle wax. You can get all these products at Scraptivate.

Anyway....... This.is just the beginning of many more adventures in my creative space!
